Video of the week - À Préhension, Fontainebleau

One of my most memorable sends from the last trip to Font was the one of À Préhension in Coquibus longs vaux. Even though I was totally wrecked after having climbed from early morning to late afternoon that day, I still decided to go and check this problem out, parltly thanks to some persuasion from Neil. I had seen it in one of his doses a while back and ever since been very keen to try it. When he told me I would do it in a session I got even more psyched, although I did'nt entirely believe him since that's what he says about most things. However, after having found my way up there, I figured out a way to do the moves pretty quickly, and then surprised my self by fireing the problem first go. I was very happy, very tired and at the same time feeling some bitterness since I then had to go back to Neil and admit to him that he (for once) was right.

In spite of the fact that À Préhension is located just a couple of hundred meters up hill from Fata Morgana, it doesn't seem to be getting a lot of attention. I am not sure why since it's an amazing climb, but maybe people just has'nt realized that it's there yet. I for sure didn't know about it until it turned up in Neil's video, as in many cases before!

This summer has, just like previous ones, been all about work for me. I can count the days I have´nt had to get up at 04.30 in the morning to head off for work on my one hand. Off course this means that there has´nt been allot of time over for heading out climbing. However, I have been able to squeeze in allot of training on my campusboard and homewall during lunchbreaks and evenings, something that I am psyched over since I feel it has helped me gain some strenght. Hopefully that strenght will come in handy during the autumn...

Anyways, one of those rare days when I didnt have to go to work I made a trip to Solklinten on Tjörn where I managed to repeat Walkers problem Puddles, as well as putting up a new problem that I call Hopplös och hatad av alla (Hopeless and hated by everyone). I filmed both ascents so that they can now be seen in what came to be the video of this week...

Video of the week - Illusion & Nikita, Västervik

Det känns som att det börjar bli dags för lite omväxling till alla bilder, och då jag sitter på en del filmklipp från våren tänkte jag för att bryta mönstret börja jag kasta upp dessa.

Först ut blir en kortis med två problem på Mommehålstenen i Västervik som jag lyckades skrapa mig upp för en bister dag i Januari. Fina problem, Illusion rekommenderar jag varmt. Nikita är kanske inte det första problemet jag skulle nämna när det pratas bouldering runt Västervik, mest för att den är förbannat vass. Man ger sig inte gärna på den om det inte är i alla fall minst lika kallt som när jag var där, förutsatt att man inte har någon form av asketiska drag i relationen till sina fingertoppar. Men moven är roliga och är det som sagt bara kallt är den väl värd att göra.

Vidare så har jag kommit fram till att jag ska göra ett försök att skriva på Engelska. Det slog mig här en dag att lika många av mina vänner och besökare här i bloggen som förstår svenska, gör det inte, och förstås skulle det vara roligt om även dessa kan följa mig inte bara genom att titta på bilderna och filmerna. Vi får se vart det hela leder, kanske är det ett påhitt jag ger upp fort i samband med att jag inser hur mycket svårare det är att uttrycka sig genom något annat än sitt modersmål. Eller också visar det sig vara uppskattat, vilket jag hoppas och tror. Hursomhelst blir detta tills vidare mitt sista inlägg skrivet på svenska...
