Video - 2 Font 7A's

I quite like editing, but not climbing or filming outdoors much in the last year, I have to dig deeper and deeper into my archives to find footage that I can play around with. In a dusty folder with stuff gathered during my trip to Fontainebleau in the spring of 2012, I found two problems filmed by Sandstones media which had not been used in any video. Not having much to do the other night, I put them together to make this short...

2013 Fontainebleau outtakes

Working with routesetting I often find myself thinking back on outdoor climbs I've been on with hopes of finding inspiration for what I'm about to set. The other day I was using this "tool" perhaps a bit too much. I started missing Font more than I've done in a long time. And as I think about this second home of mine pretty much every day, missing it more means missing it A LOT! When I got back home that night I immediately went on my computer and started looking at Font videos. After a while I ended up seeing some old clips of mine and then stumbled over some footage that I had not used. Since I had nothing better to do I put some of them together to make the short below.

3 from in between the showers

From what I hear, weather in Font has been great this winter. Unlike last year when I was there, dragging my bad karma to the forrest. However, despite the fact that I did far from as much climbing as I would have wanted to, I still have'nt used all the footage I gathered during that time. While sat thinking back of last winter, I came to think of these bits of unused footage and decided to try making the most of (some of) them. Hope you enjoy what I did!

Video - Island fun

Now that school is no longer keeping me busy, I can start editing videos again. But in order to do so, I need material, which there isn't lots of since I haven't climbed much outdoors all autumn, let alone filmed. However, some of the footage Thomas and I gathered during his visit in August, did not fit in to the first video I made. Using that, I have put together this short with four problems from the Islands of Öckerö, outside Gothenburg.

The two songs in the video are by Andreas Åhlfeldt, who has produced music for many great climbing videos such as Progression and First ascent. Make sure to visit his site and listen to his other great tunes.

Video - Whippin up the westcoast

I normally have a hard time making it out to the rocks during the summer months due to spending most of my time working. I try to stay in shape by training on my home wall, and look at the time as a yearly brake from pushing myself to send. However, at some occations I find my way to the crags nearby my home. This summer, I acctaully even made it up a couple of problems I've been wanting to do for a long time, along with repeating some old classics for the camera. Some of them ended up in this edit.

Video - Hetsitt, Hultastenen

After finishing "Home away from home", I have not been cray keen on sitting in front of my computer, watching myself on the same climbs over and over again. To be honnest, I am not keen on editing any footage of me right now. But being able to work Victor in to the intro, made it worth putting together also the few bits of climbing-footage I gathered when spending a April-weekend in Kjugekull together with the Cabrera-Tillman family.

Betavideo - Stora stygga vargen 7c+, Tjörnbroklippan

It´s rare that I tie myself to a rope, but towards the end of last summer it actually happend on more than one occation. I know that there is a few of you out there who doubts me on this (and I am not blaming you), so in order to have some proof, I decided to film one of these moments. Off course, as soon as I'd loaded the footage on to my computer, I forgot all about it. Until the other day when I was looking throw my video-gallery and stumbled upon the clip. It did not make much of a video, but at least some beta from distance for those of you interested in seeing how I climbed Stora stygga vargen at Tjörnbroklippan.

Home away from home - A short about my spring in Font

I think this one pretty much speaks for itself, but just to give a brief summary, this video shows some of my most memorable moments from the time I spent in Fontainebleau this spring. There's been quite a few, even though the weather overall was far from great. And as always, apart from the climbing, I came to know many new friends, as well as being reunited with familiar faces that I do not see nearly as often as I would like. Everyone has in some way contributed to this video...

In order not to make those of you who decide to watch this, feel like I'm robbing you of too much time, I have tried to keep it kinda short. If you after having seen it, would happen to like to see more, I will be putting together some outtakes-shorts that I will publish as I finish them. This way you can choose how much is enough. Hope you enjoy what I did...

Out of sight - A film by Neil Hart

Neil's film-project has been a big part of my spring in Fontainebleau, and something I am very proud and happy to be a part of. It's been a pleasure to see Neil's dedication towards this project, and I'm not doubting that the finished product will turn out at least as good as the trailer bellow.

"Fontainebleau is one of the most popular climbing destination on the planet, with thousands of boulders spread over hundreds of areas. From he classic areas of the Franchard and Cuvier to the less know areas of Buthiers and JA Martin. Come follow a group of the worlds best climbers as they explore the most hidden beautiful boulders of this enchanted forest. They will take you on a journey to parts of the forest you have never heard off and boulders you have never seen, Not only that but boulders just of the paths in the main areas that are so beautiful but seldom climbed."

Video - Autopilot 7B+, Chironico

Climbing can be frustrating sometimes. The first problem we did during our weekend trip to Ticino in October, was Autopilot in Chironico. Even though it climbed well, I wasn't to happy with having to try it as many times as I did, before getting my self to pull my long legs high enough to not dab the boulder you are swinging over when doing the cruxmove. (I hope however, that no one takes me to serious with what I'm saying in the interview that opens the video...)

September outtakes - Albarracin

I am not sure if you can actually call this an outtakes video since it's no different from the other short's that I am posting. The reason to why I came up with the name in the first place, is that it contains some problems that I climbed during my stay in September, but wheren't able to fit in the first video I made, and therefore I consider these clips outtakes.

Regardless of the name, I hope you will enjoy seeing some more footage from my September stay in Albarracin...

Video - Two from Brione

In mid October, Neil and I sat of on a weekendtrip to Ticino. After spending 16 hours in the car, for one and a half days of climbing in not so good conditions, we came to the conclusion that Brione is a bit to far away from Font for going over a weekend. The climbing however, is amazing and I would love to go back and try some of the boulders I only got to see a glimse of during this visit.

Neil filmed me on the the two problems I managed to get up, and with the footage I have put together this short...

Video - Autumn bleaus

This video contains a handfull of problems that I climbed and filmed before going home over Christmas. While being home, I had a bit of time that I used to edit the footage, between eating and sleeping which my three weeks in Sweden was mostly about.

Now that I´m back in Font, I am struggling to get back in shape. It´s been kinda tough up until this point, but after being blessed with amazing, cold weather (apart from the snow) over the last two days, I think I've reached a turning point. I can feel my body slowly adapting to the climbing and all the walking I'm doing around here and with that, my motivation is also returning. A bit of a relief since I have been worried about not enjoying going out into the forrest as much as I use to.

Video - Another week in Albarracin

During the first week of November I went back to Albarracin with Neil and his son Thomas. We got five days climbing in good conditions, before a nasty rainweather rolled in and made us head back to Font a couple of days earlier than planned.

We decided in the car on the way down that we would try to film eachother as much as possible, something Neil stuck to and I didn't. The outcome of it all was me having loads of awesome footage of me climbing to use for this edit. All thanks to Neil, who also did allot of climbing, but without getting as much caught on camera for his video (Once again, sorry mate!)...

Video - Back in Bleau

This video shows some of the problems I've climbed and filmed since I arrived here in Font in the end of September (unfortunately I don't get everything filmed, especially when Neil isn't around). I feel that I have really taken a step up in my climbing lately, something which I am very happy for. Partly because it's lead to me being able to do these climbs, some of them quicker than I would ever have thought. It's also made me feel confident enough to start trying harder problems. Hopefully I can keep going without injuries or other setbacks, and maybe get one or two of these ticked off...

I have got plenty of more footage, both from Font and Albarracin, so stay tuned for more videos to come and in the meantime, enjoy this!
